2008-2009 Class Schedules
Apprenticeship Program Requirements:
An apprenticeship in this program lasts for the duration of 5 years and includes two distinct
parts.
~ 8000 hours of on-the-job training (minimum)
~ 900 hours of classroom instruction (minimum)
The related instruction cost to the student per year is approximately $225.00.

How To Make Application
*Apprenticeship wage rates are based on standard set percentages of the journeyman rate
The Austin JATC accepts applications year round for Apprenticeships in the electrical industry. Applications will be taken TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS ONLY, at 2PM ONLY, with the exception of holidays (other application times may be available by appointment). Applications are open to all persons regardless of age, race, creed, national origin, or sex. Applications must be made in person. To meet minimum qualifications for apprenticeship, applicants must be able to perform the physical and mental essential functions of the job and be able to meet the following criteria:
~ Be a U.S. Citizen, or Lawful Resident Alien, or any other Alien authorized by the Immigration and Naturalization Service to hold employment.
~ Be a minimum of 17 years of age. Prior to being indentured, applicants selected from the pool of interviewed applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
~ Be a High Scool graduate, or hold a GED certicate or have a 2-year Associate Degree or higher. (must furnish any transcripts)
~ Show evidence of one full year of High Scool Algebra with a passing grade, one post high school algebra coarse with a passing grade, succesful completion of the N.J.A.T.C. technical math coarse, or equivalent passing score of 75 on the tech. math proficiency evaluation.
~ Military Veterans must provide service separation paper DD214.
~ Prior to being indentured, applicants selected from the pool of interviewed applicants will be required to pass a drug test as directed by the J.A.T.C.
